The Life - this time, it’s for real

Have you ever seen that Geico commercial? The one with the movie announcer guy where he goes “Payback, this time it’s for real.”

That’s sort of how I feel about going Indie (which I wrote up a bit on my other blog.) That’s correct - you heard right, I went Indie! So now I’m living The Life. I had tried it out earlier during my vacations and enjoyed it. And this time, it’s for real.

Congrats. I checked your other blog, and am surprised! Very cool design. The design is better than this website :)

I didn’t know you do Eclipse. A friend of mine does Eclipse RCP. He does both think and thin clients.

So, anyway, you are ready to receive my nagging abour your app, right?

Welcome to The Life, mate! It’s messy, it’s tough, but you’ll love it ;-)

  4. Kent Says:

I’ve been thinking about “coming out” for quite some time. :-)

    Have fun.

  5. Justin Says:

Super congrats, Luis! You know I’m right there with you… tomorrow is the one-month anniversary of my first contract as a freelancer. To infinity and beyond!

  6. Christopher St. John Says:

Wow, congrats! Inspirational for those of us still clinging to a day job :-)

  7. Mike Zornek Says:

Welcome to the good fight. Have fun. Stay focused. Best of luck. :-)

    Thanks everybody!

Arnaud: I hope I make you proud. :)

Takaaki: Yes I’m using the Fresh Bananas theme on my personal/Rails blog. I should upgrade this site’s look as well. And yes I am ready for the nagging! ;)

    Nando: Sounds like fun!

Kent: Um - wrong blog entry. Just kidding! Actually it was weird keeping things “undercover” at my day job. I think that’s part of the reason why I have two blogs.

Its nicer now to be able to speak out in the open about all the things that I like to do.

Justin: Yea thanks - you becoming a freelancer helped me see its doable.

Chris: Don’t cling too tightly! Seriously, the water is fine out here.

Mike: Thanks as well for the advice you gave me back in the summer.

Anyways its been going well - just very busy - I’ll have to update everyone next week when I have some down time.
